Tax Season = Homebuying Season

Here's how...

1) Your income tax return can be used for your downpayment on a home!  And if it's $1,600 dollars or more, it may be all you need to get into your new home!  If you want to do this, we recommend getting your tax return directly deposited into a bank account.  This makes it easy for the bank providing your home loan to see that you have that money saved.  If you go below $1,600 dollars in your bank account, you may delay your purchase of a home by 3 months or more.  Call LVCLT if you have any questions: 610-691-5620).

2) Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley, our parent organization, offers free income tax preparation for households making less than $50,000 dollars a year.  You can meet with a volunteer tax preparer at numerous locations.  There are sites in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Trexlertown, and Pen Argyl.  Call for an appointment (610-691-5620) or sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B084FAFAE2AA64-client.

2013 Income Guidelines

Every year the income guidelines for our homes are revisited by the Federal government's Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  This year the income guidelines went down a little bit, so if you received an application last year, were close to the limit, and were considering purchasing a home this year...   ...it would be wise to have a look at the limits for 2013!

I hope your year has begun well, and we at LVCLT wish you the best over the coming year!
